About the position

As the Senior Product Designer at AXS, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for our consumer and enterprise platforms. This position is designed for a creative individual who is passionate about improving the fan experience and providing innovative solutions for our clients. You will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration and creativity, working closely with product managers, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to translate user needs and business goals into intuitive design solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the discovery, design, and build of products, whether they are in the design phase or being developed from scratch. In this role, you will design interfaces that are not only functional but also elegant, ensuring that they meet the usability standards expected by our users. You will act as a steward for our design system, ensuring consistency across all platforms. Your ability to analyze and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative research will inform your design decisions, allowing you to influence the future vision and strategic direction of our products. You will also provide direct feedback to other designers, fostering their growth and development within the team. Your work will involve championing user-centric designs by understanding the motivations and pain points of our users, and consistently thinking from their perspective. You will stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating these insights into your design processes. Additionally, you will ensure that all UI designs align with our brand guidelines and design standards, actively gathering feedback from peers and stakeholders to make iterative improvements based on their insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the discovery, design, and build of products already in the design phase or from scratch
  • Design interfaces that are simple, functional, and elegant for complex systems
  • Act as a steward for our design system
  • Lead, analyze, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative research to inform design decisions
  • Influence the future vision and strategic decisions with your product and executive team
  • Provide direct and impactful feedback to other designers on the team
  • Ensure product meets criteria for efficiency, effectiveness and user satisfaction according to usability standards
  • Champion user-centric designs by understanding the underlying motivations and pain points of our users
  • Research and understand industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate into design processes
  • Ensure UI designs are consistent with brand guidelines and design standards
  • Actively gather peer and stakeholder feedback and make iterative improvements based on the insights received

Requirements

  • 4-6 years relevant product design experience (experience within a ticketing company is preferred)
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates an advanced understanding of information hierarchy, business objectives, good usability practices and a solid sense of aesthetics
  • Expertise in participating and providing feedback in internal design reviews
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a rationale for design decisions
  • Advanced understanding of user experience principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Figma and other industry standard design tools
  • An expert understanding of the design and product development processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Knowledge of website structure and functionality; understanding of how web-based technologies relate to web design such as HTML, Flash, CSS, and AJAX
