The Global Hardlines Private Label team at Amazon is seeking a Global Product Development Manager who is passionate about products and possesses strong analytical capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and project management expertise. This role is pivotal in driving product development for one of the most exciting categories at Amazon.com. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the sufficiency of the development pipeline for their category at a global level, which includes North America, Europe, and Japan. The role requires the ability to develop and launch products on time and on target, necessitating a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs to define and prioritize product development focus for the upcoming three years. In this position, the Global Product Development Manager will manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization. This includes making trade-offs for proper prioritization between global and regional needs, as well as balancing speed versus quality. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity while driving stakeholder engagement. They will need to collaborate effectively with various teams across the organization, including business managers, sourcing, legal, patent, social compliance, and product compliance. A typical day in this role involves identifying new product development opportunities, developing the product roadmap, and bringing new products to market globally. The manager will also be responsible for identifying process enhancement opportunities and driving necessary interventions to improve efficiency and effectiveness in product development.
