About the position

The Sr. Product Development Manager for Hardlines Private Brands at Amazon is responsible for overseeing the development pipeline for a global product category. This role involves managing the product lifecycle from ideation to commercialization, ensuring timely and on-target product launches while collaborating with various teams across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and project management skills, with a passion for product development and a customer-centric approach.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product development pipeline sufficiency for the global category.
  • Develop and launch products on-time and on-target.
  • Understand market trends and customer needs to prioritize product development focus for the next three years.
  • Dive deep into data metrics across regions to develop a product development line plan.
  • Make trade-offs for prioritization between global vs. regional needs, and speed vs. quality.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization.
  • Collaborate and influence team members across various functions including business managers, sourcing, and compliance teams.
  • Build and execute on new initiatives and roadmaps each year.
  • Partner with country teams to launch products globally.
  • Identify new product development opportunities and enhance processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience with feature delivery and trade-offs of a product.
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Experience with end-to-end product delivery.
  • Experience as a product manager or owner.
  • Experience owning technology products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology experience.
  • Multi-location, cross time zone working experience.
  • Experience managing a P&L.
  • Experience influencing senior leadership through data-driven insights.
  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Competence with SQL (basic queries).
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Ecommerce.
  • Experience within a consumer goods/retail company.
