About the position

PayPal, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Product Manager 1 - Technical to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will manage and own products for the API and/or Mobile/JS SDK team, which are essential for enabling merchants to integrate and process payments via PayPal. Your primary responsibility will be to prioritize and maintain a balance between ongoing maintenance and bugs, new feature requests, and the need to keep client-side integrations simple, flexible, and continuously evolving with changes in technology and the competitive landscape. You will perform competitive analysis to identify areas for improvement and trends that can inform our product development strategy. As a Sr. Product Manager, you will build a compelling case for continuously evolving client interfaces and provide the necessary support and direction to ensure the engineering team remains efficient and aligned with the overall product strategy. You will actively participate in regular team meetings, including stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions, and remain engaged with the team throughout the product lifecycle. Additionally, you will collaborate with various teams across PayPal, including Sales, Marketing, and Professional Services, to pilot and launch enhancements aimed at improving product adoption. You will manage one or more technology-focused products, including SaaS, APIs, Mobile/JS SDKs, Infrastructure, and Platform, within an Agile SCRUM environment at scale. Your goal will be to define and deliver world-class API/SDKs for developers globally, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and usability. Telecommuting is permitted from a commutable distance, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of experience as a Product Manager or in a related occupation.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with Tableau.
  • Knowledge of product development processes.
  • Understanding of software system design.
  • Experience in API development.
  • Familiarity with Postman and integrations.
