About the position

The Senior Product Manager for Business Data Products & Solutions at PayPal is responsible for building and optimizing the core data platform that supports various business-critical applications. This role involves collaborating with engineering, data science, and other product teams to deliver scalable data solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data products and solutions.
  • Work closely with engineering, data science, analytics, and business teams to understand requirements and prioritize initiatives.
  • Communicate the data platform strategy, vision, and progress to key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Ensure the platform delivers value to internal and external users by gathering feedback and conducting user research.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the data products and solutions.
  • Partner with Data Governance, Privacy, and Compliance teams to ensure products are within regulatory boundaries.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on data platforms, data products, or analytics.
  • Solid understanding of modern data technology (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, real-time data processing, distributed systems).
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies, managing and prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive product decisions and measure success.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning platforms and tools.
  • Experience working with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and related technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with data security, compliance, and privacy best practices (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
