About the position

The Senior Product Manager at Grainger plays a crucial role in guiding the product vision and roadmap for enterprise systems and application development. This position involves high ownership over key features and customer experiences, working collaboratively with engineering, design, and operations teams to develop products that meet customer needs. The role requires strategic thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including C-Suite executives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and achieve Grainger's Inventory Management goals leveraging IoT devices.
  • Develop business plans using data to make recommendations that create advantage for Grainger.
  • Conceptualize customer and internal team member needs and build the product roadmap and requirements.
  • Lead a team of engineers through structured work, providing ample business context and establishing shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Lead, communicate, and coordinate product launches across all partners including business, product, and engineering teams, considering schedule, risk management, and escalation of issues.
  • Facilitate product review discussions with C-Suite executives, landing the appropriate message for the audience.
  • Partner with analytics, UX, peer PMs, and operational business leaders to deliver quality capabilities and measure growth.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience as a product manager or related occupation, including leading agile sprint teams and working with design, analytics, and business partners.
  • Demonstrated experience designing solutions to complex problems and accomplishing results by conceptualizing, building, or substantially modifying enterprise internal tools and external websites, preferably geared towards B2B customers.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use hard data metrics to back up assumptions when presenting business cases to executive leadership and business partners.
  • BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering, science, math, or related field; MS or MBA is ideal.
  • Ability to function with ambiguity and within a matrix organization, operating on a tight schedule.
