About the position

In this key leadership role within the Digital Payments group, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategy execution and product management of mobile payment solutions. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the mobile channels developed meet the needs of both Fifth Third's business and consumer customers. This involves collaborating with existing Product Management and Product Development teams to create a long-term product and technical roadmap for mobile payments. Your ability to build positive relationships with various departments within the bank, including IT, Operations, Corporate Lines of Business, Risk & Compliance, Audit, Legal, and affiliates throughout the Bancorp, will be critical to the success of this role. You will take ownership of the product development lifecycle, identifying and prioritizing product development opportunities, and deploying products to market within established time frames and budgets. This includes managing pricing, profitability, packaging, promotion, and margin management. You will also provide a consultative role on projects, introducing products to the market, and overseeing vendor selection and relations, including contract negotiations with business partners in Digital Payments and Operations. Additionally, you will oversee development stakeholders such as IT, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Partners to ensure successful product delivery. Your role will also involve conducting market research and analysis to maintain and enhance your knowledge of current and evolving concepts, practices, processes, laws, regulations, and technologies in the payments market. You will conduct market segment studies to guide product development, understand and analyze competition, and gain insights into the buying habits and characteristics of clients. Participation and leadership in user groups will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities, allowing you to contribute to thought leadership in the digital payments space.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in product management and development, particularly in mobile payments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build relationships across various departments.
  • Experience in market research and analysis within the payments industry.
  • Ability to manage product development lifecycle effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills for vendor selection and contract management.
  • Knowledge of current and evolving concepts, practices, processes, laws, and regulations in the payments market.
