About the position

The Sr. Product Manager for Prime Air at Amazon is responsible for owning demand forecasting and tools for the drone delivery program. This role involves creating and optimizing forecasting models to determine business needs as the program expands to millions of customers. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to optimize capacity and staffing based on expansion and new feature launches, driving innovation and applying state-of-the-art technologies to solve real-world delivery challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and optimize all the key performance metrics for planning and forecasting
  • Single-threaded owner for Prime Air's S&OP
  • Analyze forecast variances, understand and mitigate variance drivers, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Support short, medium, and long-term strategic planning discussions
  • Contribute towards the annual operational planning processes in partnership with stakeholders
  • Advise on the demand impact of new initiatives/products
  • Partner with finance teams on monthly/quarterly financial reporting, to represent business story related to forecast variances
  • Drive process and model improvements that directly impact day-to-day operations and the expansion roadmap

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience as a product manager or owner
  • Experience owning technology products

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
  • 2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience
  • 5+ years of experience with statistical analysis, modeling, and forecasting mechanisms
  • Experience with SQL and one or more of the statistical modeling languages/toolboxes (R, SAS, SPSS, Matlab, or Python)
