About the position

The Alexa Customer Journeys team at Amazon is seeking a Sr. Product Manager - Technical who is passionate about integrating Generative AI into customer experiences. This role is pivotal in creating personalized assistance for Alexa users, ensuring that the technology adapts to individual needs and preferences. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a diverse team of product managers, engineers, marketers, and data scientists to innovate and enhance the personalization features of Alexa. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and managing feedback, correction, and disambiguation experiences that allow Alexa to provide tailored responses to users. You will need to drive clarity from ambiguity, establishing a clear vision and strategy for customer scenarios while ensuring high-quality delivery at speed and scale. Your role will involve representing the voice of the customer through extensive research, both internal and external, to align product features with customer needs. As a Sr. Product Manager, you will work closely with engineering, applied science, and UX/design teams to push the boundaries of what is possible with Alexa. You will be tasked with driving product adoption, engagement, and experimentation, ensuring that the products you manage meet the high standards expected by Amazon customers. This role spans multiple delivery organizations, making it essential to engage effectively with various teams to deliver a Generative AI-based service that meets Amazon's quality benchmarks. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include cutting through ambiguity, applying structured mechanisms, delivering clear requirements, and engaging deeply with cross-functional teams to create exceptional customer experiences. You will own the customer experience, with customer satisfaction being the ultimate measure of your success. Regular updates to senior leadership on progress will be a key part of your role, as will navigating the high-velocity and ambiguous nature of this innovative space.

Responsibilities

  • Drive clarity out of ambiguity and define a clear vision, strategy and requirements for customer scenarios.
  • Develop and manage mechanisms that ensure high quality at speed and scale.
  • Represent the voice of customer through external and internal research and map to customer needs.
  • Work with engineering, applied science, and UX/design to advance state of the art.
  • Drive adoption, engagement, and experimentation of your products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
