About the position

The Amazon Pay team is seeking a Senior Product Manager-Technical to lead the transformation of the merchant experience within a rapidly growing fintech payments ecosystem. This role is pivotal in redefining how merchants interact with Amazon Pay, aiming to establish it as the preferred payment method for customers across various shopping platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a seamless registration process that allows merchants to transact with Amazon Pay in a matter of minutes. As the product leader, you will be tasked with driving the vision for a world-class merchant experience, collaborating closely with developers, data scientists, UX designers, and solution architects to bring this vision to fruition. In this high-visibility role, you will have end-to-end responsibility for optimizing the merchant onboarding experience. This includes defining the complete product experience, negotiating with both internal and external partners, building a prioritized roadmap, and overseeing implementation with multiple technical teams. The position requires a mindset that embraces innovation and scalability, as you will be working with stakeholders across the US, EU, and JP to create solutions that address customer needs and enhance the overall product offering. As a Product Manager at Amazon Pay, you will embody the entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrating curiosity about customer challenges and a passion for listening to their feedback. You will own the performance of your product, often taking on multiple roles or leading cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches. This role demands a strong analytical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing complex, large-scale issues. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be required to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the merchant onboarding experience end-to-end.
  • Define the complete product experience and negotiate with partners.
  • Build a prioritized roadmap and drive implementation with tech teams.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering leaders to define technical solutions.
  • Identify product integration gaps and liaise with external partners.
  • Work with stakeholders across US, EU, and JP to define scaling plans.
  • Provide leadership updates through established communication mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 6+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • Experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Experience with feature delivery and understanding tradeoffs.
  • Experience in managing technical products or online services.
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions regarding technology decisions.
  • Ability to represent and advocate for critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using analytical tools such as Tableau, Qlikview, or QuickSight.
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools.
  • Prior experience in the payments industry.
