Project Kuiper is an initiative aimed at enhancing global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites positioned in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission of Project Kuiper is to provide fast and affordable broadband services to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. By doing so, it seeks to bridge the digital divide, offering reliable connectivity to a diverse range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and organizations operating in areas lacking dependable internet access. The team responsible for this initiative oversees the network transit services and related capabilities that unlock customer value across all Kuiper verticals, which include Government, Consumer, and Enterprise sectors. This encompasses services such as public internet access, private cloud connectivity, on-premises customer links, and layer 2 transit. The team collaborates closely with Kuiper's business units to identify high-value connectivity needs and develop innovative network services tailored to meet these customer demands. In this role, you will be tasked with driving the technical vision and roadmap for Kuiper's network transport services. This involves defining the core network transport services and APIs that will facilitate connectivity for all Kuiper customers. You will work in close partnership with engineering teams to design and deliver highly scalable, reliable, and performant network capabilities. Ensuring alignment between network services and the needs of Kuiper's vertical business units will be crucial, as will identifying opportunities to create unique, high-value network services that promote adoption and usage of the Kuiper network. Additionally, you will collaborate with other Amazon teams, such as AWS, to unlock synergies and provide seamless networking experiences for customers. Defining the operational model and key performance metrics for the global network transport services will also be part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position will possess deep technical expertise in networking and distributed systems, along with a proven track record of driving strategy and execution for complex infrastructure products. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels are essential for success in this role.
