About the position

The Sr. Product Manager - Technical (PMT) for Project Kuiper's Government Solutions (KGS) team is responsible for defining and managing a suite of products aimed at providing high-speed, low-latency satellite broadband services to U.S. government and allied customers. This role involves collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure product alignment with customer needs and business opportunities, while innovating in a cutting-edge communications technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Write product roadmaps, product description documents, and engineering requirements documents for products
• Create detailed product requirements documents based on knowledge of specific customer verticals including use case prioritization and feature definition
• Work with leadership to set customer strategy and make high-judgment trade-offs
• Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution
• Establish goals and review metrics to identify opportunities and deliver success
• Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance business needs versus technical constraints

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
• 8+ years of experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
• 8+ years of experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
• 8+ years of experience managing technical products or online services
• 5+ years of experience representing and advocating for critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Nice-to-haves

• Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Communications Systems, or related discipline
• Familiarity with satellite systems and operations
• Optical Communications System design, architecture, and system integration background
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
