About the position

The Employee Onboarding and Admin team at Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager (Technical) to lead and develop innovative solutions that empower the vast array of services utilized by millions of employees daily. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the product owner for an internally-facing technology service that is leveraged by hundreds of teams across Amazon. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing and delivering large-scale products tailored for technical customers. You will be adept in modern product management practices, employing design-led approaches that are informed by thorough research. Your ability to demonstrate business acumen and creativity will be essential in envisioning groundbreaking concepts, fostering an environment that encourages experimentation and innovative thinking. As a Senior Product Manager, you will be effective in building a robust network across partners and business leaders within Amazon. Your relentless customer obsession will drive you to collaborate with peer groups, incrementally delivering on an exciting product vision. Proficiency in the latest AWS technologies and an understanding of how engineering decisions impact technical customers will be crucial to your success in this role. You will be tasked with addressing complex business needs and improving global business processes that affect millions of users. In this role, you will contribute to engineering discussions regarding technology decisions and strategies related to the product. You will lead the development and execution of a bold product strategy and vision for the next generation of devices and services. Your responsibilities will encompass all stages of the product lifecycle, from ideation through development to launch. You will define creative, high-quality, and long-term product roadmaps aligned with team strategy and vision, while also developing detailed business requirements and user stories that inform product specifications and architecture. Additionally, you will manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance, and operational load, proactively identifying and resolving issues that may hinder the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals. Your role will also involve driving decision-making and product launches in collaboration with Engineering, UX, Operations, Business Development, Go to Market, PR, Legal, Finance, and other cross-functional teams, while creating buy-in for the product vision and strategy with leadership and internal partners.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategies related to a product.
  • Lead the development and execution of a bold product strategy and vision for the next generation of devices and services.
  • Lead initiatives in various stages of the lifecycle - from ideation to development to launch.
  • Define creative, high quality, and long term product roadmaps based on team strategy and vision.
  • Develop detailed and crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture.
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance and operational load.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
  • Drive decision making and product launches in partnership with Engineering, UX, Operations, Business Development, Go to Market, PR, Legal, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Create buy-in for the product vision and strategy with leadership and internal partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
