About the position

The Customer Service Worldwide Defect Elimination (WWDE) organization at Amazon is dedicated to enhancing customer experiences by addressing issues in real-time, minimizing defective products, and improving purchasing experiences. This team is responsible for developing strategic technology and services that are utilized across various Amazon groups, enabling rapid remediation of customer issues and identification of defects post-contact. To further this mission, WWDE is looking for a passionate and customer-obsessed Sr. Product Manager, Technical (PMT). In this role, the Sr. Technical Product Manager will lead the gathering of requirements, prioritize feature development, and take ownership of driving product metrics. The successful candidate will collaborate with WWDE program managers, business teams, and the data and research science team to identify, surface, and implement improvements. Product management at Amazon is inherently cross-functional, requiring the right candidate to take ownership of their portfolio and make strategic product decisions based on data. The Sr. Product Manager will work closely with business teams, leaders, engineering teams, and scientists, as well as business intelligence analysts, in an agile development environment to launch new features and experiences. Key responsibilities include monitoring project execution, providing progress updates to stakeholders, and ensuring that product quality and performance meet the required standards. The ideal candidate will be able to dive deep into the principles and products that will shape an exciting roadmap for the organization. Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering and prioritization of feature development.
  • Own driving the product metrics and performance.
  • Partner with WWDE program managers and various business teams to identify and drive improvements.
  • Work closely with engineering teams and scientists in an agile development environment to launch new features.
  • Monitor project execution and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of product quality and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of end-to-end product delivery experience
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning technology products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics
  • Experience in technical product management, program management, or engineering
  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders.
