About the position

The Sr. Product Manager, Technical at T-Mobile will lead initiatives in the Frontline Desktop and Engineering space, focusing on the Device & Network Insights domain. This role is pivotal in shaping how T-Mobile services its Frontline, customers, and partners by providing critical information about devices and networks across various lines of business. The position involves managing the product lifecycle, conducting user research, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance customer experience and drive product innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Owns product end to end for complex or cross-platform solutions for products of the highest level of complexity and scope.
  • Designs and drives end user product research.
  • Partners with business, internal/external stakeholders and Leadership to understand current customer experience and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Conducts analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify product innovation opportunities or root cause of issues.
  • Leverages rapid hypothesis driven testing methodologies and experiments to inform direction and prioritize investment.
  • Conducts cost-benefit / ROI / NPV analysis to support decision making.
  • Works with stakeholders to secure and maintain product funding.
  • Anticipates industry trends and incorporates analyses into product process.
  • Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at VP level and below, delivering product presentations regularly.
  • Drives specific ad hoc analysis and presents information to executive level management on request.
  • Influences product feature set or technical improvements to improve customer experience.
  • Works with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
  • Maintains current understanding of tech trends and assesses their impact on the roadmap.
  • Leverages customer insights for product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
  • Creates and manages an active VOC feed for the team.
  • Tests ideas with real customers to ensure product delivers desired benefits.
  • Translates product/platform strategy by writing detailed features and user stories for Dev teams.
  • Collaborates with PM and Dev leaders to design and assemble effective Agile delivery teams.
  • Runs or contributes to key Agile ceremonies.
  • Owns and manages product backlog and priorities with business and technology partners.
  • Scopes and ensures alignment on prioritization of activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Collaborates with Architecture and Dev teams to factor technical debt into the roadmap.
  • Ensures existing production defects are factored into regular backlog prioritization.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to create and communicate anticipated release schedule.
  • Manages and maintains efficient flow of just-in-time feature and story elaboration activities across Agile Teams.
  • Generates and maintains dashboards and reports that track product health and success metrics.
  • Conducts Product Quarterly Business Reviews and Steering meetings.
  • Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage products.
  • Collaborates with advertising and public relations to promote product.
  • Supports sales, marketing, and other stakeholder teams with product knowledge and documentation.
  • Recognizes and communicates technical challenges to stakeholders and makes educated trade-off decisions.
  • Accountable for product quality and performance in production environment.
  • Manages development of adoption tools and training materials.
  • Identifies execution, operational, organizational issues that impede product success and drives improvement plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience in hands-on technical writing production code, solution engineering, or technical architecture in a large-scale company/application/product environment.
  • 7+ years of relevant Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment.
  • Proven success in directing matrixed resources and delivering software using Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong requirements elicitation and writing skills for different audiences.
  • Experience with Agile backlog/project management tools.
  • Ability to develop Initiatives, Features, and User Stories for DevOps teams.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with Leadership and collaborate with various teams.
  • Deep understanding of platform technologies and components such as security, performance, optimization, API integration.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify/analyze/synthesize product use data.
  • Knowledge and experience with integration patterns, APIs, and protocols such as REST, EDI, SOAP.
  • Extensive knowledge of DevOps (CI / CT / CD) and its application in Agile environments.
