About the position

The Senior Product Manager for Wetwall at Wilsonart is responsible for managing new product introductions, market planning, product life cycle management, and sales programming functions for the Wetwall product line. This role involves developing and implementing product management plans to maximize returns, understanding market needs, and forecasting material demand.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new product introductions, market planning, product life cycle management, and sales programming functions.
  • Develop and implement specific product management plans (annual and long term) to maximize returns from the Wetwall portfolio.
  • Assess the products and product features needed in the market.
  • Conduct marketing planning for and placement of products launched into the market.
  • Determine customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements.
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
  • Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Obtain product market share by working with the sales director to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assess product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Prepare short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses for management.
  • Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs.
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data and reviewing production and sales costs.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintain product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain product management staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of tile, bathroom wet space and/or decorative surfaces and HPL.
  • Ability to perform competitive analysis and marketing research.
  • Excellent math and finance skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing methodologies.
  • Technical product knowledge.
  • Computer proficiency including the application of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; at ease with all levels within the company and with customers.
  • Compelling public speaking skills.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relations across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead and execute the new product introduction process.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, design, sales, and marketing.
  • Prior experience leading and executing large, complex product management projects.
  • Prior experience partnering with internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in building materials is a plus.
