About the position

The Senior Product Manager for Wetwall at Wilsonart is responsible for managing new product introductions, market planning, product life cycle management, and sales programming functions for the Wetwall product line. This role involves developing and implementing product management plans to maximize returns, understanding market needs, and ensuring effective marketing strategies for product placement. The position requires collaboration with various departments to bring new products to market and assess competition, while also forecasting material demand and maintaining product availability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new product introductions, market planning, product life cycle management, and sales programming functions.
  • Develop and implement specific product management plans (annual and long term) to maximize returns from the Wetwall portfolio.
  • Assess the products and product features needed in the market and plan marketing for product launches.
  • Determine customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements.
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
  • Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Obtain product market share by working with the sales director to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assess product market data by collaborating with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Prepare short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports for management.
  • Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs.
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data and reviewing production and sales costs.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintain product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of tile, bathroom wet space, and/or decorative surfaces and HPL.
  • Ability to perform competitive analysis and marketing research.
  • Excellent math and finance skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing methodologies and technical product knowledge.
  • Computer proficiency including the application of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with all levels within the company and with customers.
  • Compelling public speaking skills.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relations across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, design, sales, and marketing.
  • Prior experience leading and executing large, complex product management projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes, including successful integration with sales team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in building materials is a plus.
