About the position

The Sr Product Marketing Manager at Paychex Insurance Agency is responsible for developing and coordinating comprehensive marketing strategies for various insurance product lines. This role involves monitoring market trends to identify both opportunities and challenges that may impact the business. The position requires close collaboration with Sales and Operations teams to achieve client acquisition and retention goals effectively. The manager will oversee the development and implementation of division-wide marketing plans and communications, which include printed materials, web content, electronic sales presentations, and digital marketing initiatives. Additionally, the manager will prepare reports for senior leadership to communicate activity and results, ensuring that the marketing strategies align with the overall business objectives. In this role, the Sr Product Marketing Manager will lead a team of Product Marketing Managers and Associate Managers, guiding them in the execution of marketing strategies. The manager will work closely with various departments, including Sales, Operations, Product Management, and Product Development, to launch new services and drive favorable business outcomes in sales, retention, and product awareness. Regular meetings with senior leadership will be held to assess the marketing and sales support needs for assigned business units, and the manager will present plans and updates to build consensus on strategic goals. The position also involves recruiting, selecting, hiring, and evaluating the performance of team members to ensure that departmental needs are met. The manager will provide counseling and development opportunities for staff, facilitating their personal and professional advancement through training programs and other resources. Conducting market research to gain insights into industry trends is another critical aspect of this role. The Sr Product Marketing Manager will oversee the implementation of marketing communications strategies, ensuring compliance with Paychex brand standards while monitoring the competitive environment to adjust plans accordingly. Other duties may be assigned to support the overall function of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the development and implementation of division-wide marketing plans and communications, including printed material, web content, electronic sales presentations, digital marketing, and any other media.
  • Prepares reports to share with senior leadership regarding activity and results.
  • Manages a team of Product Marketing Managers and Associate Managers to develop and execute marketing strategies.
  • Works closely with Sales, Operations, Product Management, and Product Development leadership to launch new services and produce favorable business outcomes in the areas of sales, retention and product awareness.
  • Meets with senior leadership to determine the marketing and sales support needs for assigned business units.
  • Presents plans and updates progress to senior leadership to build consensus on strategic goals.
  • Recruits, selects, hires, and evaluates performance of personnel to ensure all department needs are handled appropriately.
  • Counsels and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs and other resources as required for professional advancement.
  • Commissions market research to gain critical insight into the trends within markets.
  • Oversees and implements marketing communications strategies to ensure adherence to Paychex brand standards.
  • Monitors competitive environment and adjusts plans to meet future opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position's function.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Insurance (H&B or P&C) and/or InsurTech industry experience.
  • 3 years of management experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing.
  • Master's Degree - Preferred.
