About the position

The Senior Product Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the individual product strategy and creating relevant business cases. This position is accountable for the full product lifecycle, from ideation to end-of-life, ensuring that the product aligns with the broader CDK product lines and ecosystem. As the voice of the customer and market for the product organization, the Senior Product Manager ensures that user personas and product requirements are clearly defined and reflected in user stories. Additionally, this role may involve owning and assisting in the development of Epics, working closely with the Scrum Master and agile teams to groom the backlog and make timely decisions regarding product requirement trade-offs. In terms of supervision and autonomy, the Senior Product Manager conducts complex and important work with moderate supervision. They operate with little instruction on day-to-day tasks and receive general guidance on new projects. The role requires analyzing solutions using standard procedures and maintaining awareness of competition and product differentiators. Continuous skill-building in product management is essential, leveraging industry, organizational, and customer knowledge to interpret and drive internal and customer requirements. Leadership is a key aspect of this role, as the Senior Product Manager leads product requirements and collaborates daily with agile teams to define user stories and features (Epics). They act as a resource for junior staff, providing peer-to-peer support. The successful execution of this role has a significant impact on overall product deliverables and can affect cross-connected use cases and related customer and business outcomes. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for translating product vision into prioritized and deliverable features and user stories based on feedback from dealers and customers, as well as analysis of user and buyer personas, to deliver differentiated customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product vision into prioritized and deliverable Features (Epics) and user stories based on feedback from dealers/customers and analysis of user and buyer personas.
  • Manage the backlog for sprint teams, partnering with R&D/Scrum Master in prioritization, supporting the full lifecycle from definition, beta, showcase, and retrospectives.
  • Work with product marketing to develop the product's value proposition, features, and benefits.
  • Monitor and adapt to key product success metrics (e.g., adoption, profitability, NPS, market share growth).
  • Invest in gaining expertise of the market, user personas, functional, and domain knowledge.
  • Develop and prioritize the Features (Epics) and user stories based on user/market requirements, strategy, and business plan. Support business case development.
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure the product remains aligned with overall CDK product strategy and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3-5+ years of Product Owner or Product Management experience in Enterprise SaaS, full lifecycle management.
  • Deep knowledge in creating Features (Epics) and user stories, driving end-to-end execution of product releases.
  • Experience in Agile software/DevOps methodologies and working with globally distributed teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate customer communications.
  • Ability to listen and consider the points of view of others, collaborate, and build consensus within cross-functional areas.
  • Strong track record of product execution in a dynamic environment.
