About the position

The Sr. Production Manager at Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the assembly manufacturing operation. This includes managing manufacturing processes, maintenance, equipment, procedures, and schedules to ensure quality, productivity, cost-effectiveness, safety, and employee morale. The role involves developing and maintaining relationships with various departments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the assembly manufacturing operation including processes, maintenance, equipment, procedures, and schedules.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in automotive parts production.
  • Create and maintain functional relationships with other departments to gather input on product and process requirements.
  • Develop processes and work improvement systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and support preventive maintenance programs.
  • Plan and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders and meet inventory requirements.
  • Influence and strategically develop salary team members.
  • Review job tasks with foreman/supervisors to create cost-saving measures and improve quality and service.
  • Provide structure and guidance to direct reports for effective job performance.
  • Conduct routine assessments and provide feedback for career growth.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental, Health, and Training regulations.
  • Develop and maintain reporting, charting, and tracking of major KPIs.
  • Implement and track corrective actions to continuously improve KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Six years of experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of machining processes and leadership experience in a machining operation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production, scheduling, and shipping operations.
  • Familiarity with IATF16949, ISO14001, and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent verbal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate team efforts to accomplish goals.
  • Previous managerial experience including hiring and conducting performance reviews.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
