About the position

The Senior Program Manager at Collins Aerospace will lead an Audio/Video Team within a complex airborne platform development and integration program in Protected Communication Systems (PCS). This critical leadership role involves directing all program phases from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets. The position requires a strong command of program management best practices and the ability to foster a culture of accountability and execution excellence across complex cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of an airborne platform development and integration program, ensuring adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Manage the P&L to ensure profitability and sales targets are met, including management of multiple vendors.
  • Deliver projects on time and on schedule through leadership of cross matrixed teams.
  • Utilize Earned Value Management to track program performance and recommend appropriate adjustments as needed.
  • Establish and maintain key programmatic metrics, define milestones and critical path, and monitor adherence to program budgets and schedules.
  • Own the customer interface, fostering a collaborative 'One Team' culture with the customer.
  • Maintain strong scope change management and support negotiations of contracts, including ECP's and REA's.
  • Lead pursuit activities for competitive and sole-sources activities, including proposal preparations and contract negotiations.
  • Support the development of new business growth strategies.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Prepare and present internal and external executive-level briefs and Gate Reviews detailing program plans, progress reports, and risks/opportunities.
  • Develop and present the program Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long-term financial outlook.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience leading complex integration and development in government, defense, aerospace, or related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in Earned Value Management and P&L ownership.
  • Customer-facing program leadership experience with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Command of Program Management best practices and experience managing program management tools such as R/O Management, Cost and Schedule Management, Earned Value Management, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Strategic and NC3 Communications for USSTRATCOM and deployable command nodes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Protected Communication Systems, including Audio & Video and Wideband RF and satellite communications technologies.
  • Experience managing a portfolio over $25M in annual sales.
  • Experience working within an Interorganizational Transfer (IOT) structure.
  • Prior experience managing people, including indirect reports through a matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of Government contracting and acquisition processes.
