About the position

The Sr Program Manager for Product Development at Smith & Nephew will lead key innovation programs within the Sports Medicine franchise. This role focuses on advancing planning, visualization, and instrumentation technologies to assist surgeons in pre-operative and intraoperative settings. The successful candidate will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of complex product development programs, while also fostering a culture of inclusiveness and engagement within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Build a global program team and lead execution excellence from program inception through product delivery.
  • Collaborate with R&D Leadership to overcome technical challenges and operational hurdles.
  • Work with Product and Portfolio Management on stage-gating and strategic program aspects.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication to global stakeholders with maximum transparency.
  • Mobilize people and resources to deliver on business targets and strategic goals.
  • Develop program budget and monitor spend cross-functionally.
  • Evaluate and develop team members for successful program execution.
  • Embrace and lead a culture of inclusiveness and multi-cultural engagement through coaching and feedback.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent in a related discipline, preferably Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
  • Leadership experience with the demonstrated ability to successfully execute complex Product Development Programs.
  • Full life cycle Product Development experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a technology environment, with a background in medical technologies.
  • Proven organizational change management skills to catalyze global teams and spearhead transformation to a fail-fast-learn-fast culture.
  • Ability to develop high performing teams and lead in a matrixed environment.
