About the position
The Senior Program Manager at Roush will oversee multiple programs and teams to ensure that program goals are met. This role involves interaction with various customers and cross-functional teams, leading program teams from quoting through to completion while ensuring financial targets are achieved. The position is based in Livonia, MI, and requires a strong focus on problem-solving, decision-making, and customer advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Drive the cross-functional team to deliver program objectives and facilitate timely problem solving and decision-making.
- Develop timing and resource plans to ensure timely program launches and meet all deliverables while acting as a customer advocate.
- Manage, train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities.
- Conduct timely and accurate reviews and routine reports on assigned programs to expose risks and elevate issues.
- Ensure programs launch on time and meet deliverables while achieving profitability and capital financial targets throughout the program lifecycle.
- Monitor timing, quality, technical and financial risks, and issues on assigned programs.
- Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and technical support to team members.
- Mitigate risks through risk analysis and quantification and resolve issues.
- Support the business acquisition and quotation process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years program management experience.
- Experience managing multiple programs concurrently throughout the entire program lifecycle.
- Experience managing overall program financial performance.
- Prototype, concept development, and/or research and development industry experience.
- Proven track record of program management processes (Project Scope Amendment (PSA), risk identification).
- Working knowledge of program management tools (risk analyses, communication plans, timing plans, business cases, comprehensive financial analyses).
- Strong leadership and management skills, ability to solve complex problems, work independently, and be customer, cost, quality, and delivery focused.
- Excellent advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a product development environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of formal or informal leadership experience.
- Program Management Professional certification.
