About the position

The Sr Program Manager at BAE Systems is responsible for overseeing and leading a technical program that delivers Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) solutions in the cloud. This role involves managing contract execution, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring project deliverables are met on schedule and within budget. The Program Manager will collaborate with various teams and departments to support the overall contract and develop solutions to complex engineering problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an engineering program delivering a MBSE solution in the cloud.
  • Oversee contract execution by interacting with team members providing Tiers 2 and 3 support.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the customer and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Deliver contract deliverables, including PMR, BMR, financials, and customer status updates.
  • Be responsible for staffing the program and providing career development guidance.
  • Lead a team developing solutions to complex engineering problems.
  • Execute programs from proposal through contract closeout, preparing plans and project cost estimates.
  • Prepare project execution plans and identify resource needs.
  • Support review of work statements/scope to ensure they are defined and executable.
  • Coordinate project activities, deliverables, and action items.
  • Execute processes and develop management plans, resolving schedule and budget deviations.
  • Coordinate with production, planning, contracts, supply chain, and finance for successful project execution.
  • Evaluate performance, develop mitigation plans, and resolve subcontractor issues.
  • Develop, monitor, and communicate program metrics (KPIs) including budget and schedule.
  • Work with risk managers to capture risks and opportunities and ensure effective mitigation activities.
  • Understand and adhere to applicable standards and laws for successful project execution.
  • Manage conflict collaboratively and support meetings and tasks assigned by the Director of Program.

Requirements

  • PMI Certified Program Management Professional (PMP).
  • Experience managing MSP engineering work related to infrastructure for desktop application packaging and deployment technologies.
  • Knowledge of Clouds, Networking, and Enterprise architecture.
  • Ability to represent the team and deliver status reports to leadership.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, telecommunications, or an engineering-focused field.
  • AWS Solution Architect Associate or equivalent certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.
