About the position

The Sr. Program Quality Engineer (Sr. QA Engineer) at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is responsible for overseeing program quality requirements, identifying and mitigating program risks, and ensuring the timely and accurate submission of customer deliverable documentation. This role involves analyzing program defects, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing process improvements to enhance product quality. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to maintain high-quality standards and compliance with external quality standards such as ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program quality requirements and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Conduct internal quality kick-off meetings for new programs.
• Ensure program milestones are completed per schedule and customer documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
• Track quality support labor hours against estimates and identify high-priority quality risks.
• Participate in Integrated Product Team meetings with internal and external customers.
• Perform audits of production processes and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and non-conformities.
• Lead corrective action teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in general Engineering or specialized Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in a relevant function.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Relevant Program Quality Engineering experience in Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace/Aviation, or Automotive industries.
• ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor or AS9100D Lead Auditor certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Certified Quality Engineer certification.
• Strong Mechanical Background.
