About the position

The Sr. Program Quality Lead at RTX Corporation is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and services delivered to customers within the Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) sector. This role involves proactive engagement with various stakeholders, including program leadership, engineering, and supply chain teams, to implement quality assurance processes and strategic improvements across contracts. The position requires a strong quality mindset and collaboration to meet mission assurance requirements and enhance overall product lifecycle efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with program quality teams, customers, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support technical quality and compliance with Raytheon procedures.
  • Establish effective relationships with external and internal customers and key partners.
  • Manage and impact multiple levels of stakeholders to ensure success in quality assurance.
  • Oversee the quality of delivered products and services, addressing quality risks and customer expectations.
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans affecting program implementation.
  • Improve processes or systems using conceptualizing and reasoning skills to address undefined problems.
  • Ensure inclusion of quality requirements in program proposals and manage the quality budget.
  • Lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues.
  • Generate new Cost of Quality (CoQ) projects to reduce program costs.
  • Support implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) as applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Five years of engineering experience.
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience with performance to cost, schedule, and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value).
  • Technical program support experience for manufacturing and/or design processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six Sigma, Lean, CORE, or ASQ Certification.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification.
  • Experience with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar gate management process.
  • Experience in engineering, supplier engineering, or operations.
  • Experience establishing cost estimates and Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for upper management and customer interactions.
  • Hands-on experience in solving business and technical problems.
  • Passionate, high-energy, self-starting team player focused on continuous improvement.
  • Meaningful leader with presence and influence.
  • In-depth understanding of contract flow and compliance.
