About the position

The Sr. Programmer/Analyst III position is a critical role within our organization, located at 3030 Invincible Circle, League City, TX. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and a deep understanding of the company's internal policies and procedures to effectively tackle complex application development challenges. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, demonstrating proficiency in new technologies and business processes with minimal guidance from management. Communication skills are paramount, as the role involves liaising with business representatives to gather and interpret business requirements, translating them into technical specifications that guide the development process. In this role, you will be responsible for coding reliable, maintainable programs across various languages and platforms to support the systems assigned to your team. You will conduct unit and system testing, utilizing test plans and scripts to ensure the quality of deliverables. Collaboration with business stakeholders is essential, as you will review test results and make necessary adjustments before migrating deliverables to the production environment. Additionally, you will be required to maintain accurate records of time and project status for billing purposes and respond promptly to production issues as part of an on-call rotation for 24-hour system support. The position also involves preparing initial problem definitions, defining project scopes and objectives, and designing system solutions for various service requests. You will provide analytical support for the ongoing maintenance of developed systems and must adhere to current corporate project management standards. Flexibility is required, as the role may necessitate working in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical concepts and knowledge of internal policies to solve complex application development problems.
  • Complete assignments involving new technologies and business processes with minimal assistance.
  • Communicate fluently with business representatives to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Code readable, reliable, and maintainable programs in various languages on multiple platforms.
  • Perform unit and system testing using test plans and scripts, and review test results with the business.
  • Obtain approval and migrate deliverables to the production environment.
  • Record time and status for appropriate projects or support activities for billing.
  • Respond promptly to production issues as part of an on-call rotation for 24-hour support.
  • Prepare initial problem definitions and define project scope and objectives.
  • Design system solutions for all levels of service requests.
  • Provide analytical support for the ongoing maintenance of developed systems.
  • Follow current corporate project management standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a .NET developer.
  • Proficiency in .NET, C#, PowerShell, and SQL Server.
  • Experience in planning and assisting with software version upgrade releases.
  • Oversight of architectural design and integration content management.
  • Experience in creating and modifying workflows to improve process efficiency.
  • Knowledge of incident, problem, activity, and change management configurations.
  • Participation in the full product life cycle including requirements gathering, development, testing, QA, and deployment.
