Responsibilities

  • Communicate directly with clients.
  • Plan, conceptualize, and create HVAC mechanical designs for new and retrofit buildings/projects in the mission critical environment.
  • Design duct and piping systems.
  • Develop central plant cooling designs.
  • Perform typical HVAC engineering calculations to support design work.
  • Create technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure project timelines are met and projects stay within budget.
  • Travel to project sites as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • EIT/PE certification is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience working for a design engineering firm, including some Mission Critical (data center) design experience.
  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts including theoretical and practical applications for HVAC Systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with mechanical engineering software such as heat loss/gain calculations, Pipe-Flo, CFD modeling, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly to junior staff for project development.
  • Self-motivated with knowledge of project design steps and requirements.
