About the position

The Sr Project Engineer - Aseptic Filling at Nestle is responsible for overseeing all aspects of aseptic process engineering and equipment maintenance within a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Glendale, Arizona. This role focuses on ensuring operational safety, compliance with FDA regulations, and the implementation of Nestle's Good Hygienic Engineering principles. The engineer will lead projects related to aseptic filling technology, provide technical support, and drive improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, installation, start-up, and commissioning of aseptic filling equipment and lines.
  • Provide technical support for aseptic filling and sealing operations and PET bottle manufacturing.
  • Coordinate with quality, operations, and environment/safety functions to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations in aseptic product filling.
  • Participate in process validation, bottle/cap aseptic validation, and aseptic process simulations.
  • Provide technical expertise, problem-solving, project management, and coaching to peers and staff.
  • Manage engineering and optimization of technology, process development, and equipment qualification.
  • Develop and promote support strategies for key OEMs and maintain relationships.
  • Provide technical perspective during audits, inspections, and due diligence.
  • Manage contractors to meet project and budgetary expectations.
  • Author and review documents including maintenance plans, SOPs, and validation documents.
  • Develop project justifications and engineering proposals for capital planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Food Engineering or related field.
  • 3 years' experience in Low Acid Aseptic Filling Technology in a food and beverage factory.
  • 2 years' experience in engineering and maintenance of high-speed rotary aseptic filling technology using PET bottles.
  • 2 years' experience managing the application of PAA in aseptic filling processes.

  • Experience in factory maintenance and process engineering.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel nationally and internationally.
  • Knowledge of PET bottle manufacturing.
