About the position

The Senior Project Assurance Engineer plays a critical role within the Offshore Renewables team, focusing on the successful delivery of large-scale offshore wind projects globally. This position oversees the entire project lifecycle, ensuring technical excellence, adherence to industry standards, and optimal return on investment. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong technical expertise, and exceptional leadership to guide projects through various phases from initial concept to commercial operation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop process to ensure design assurance is implemented across all relevant packages within the project.
  • Ensure project validation tools are being utilized in the overall design and development.
  • Confirm risks associated with design have been appropriately mitigated and documented to ensure design certainty.
  • Implement global design management procedure across all packages on the project.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Engineering Stage Gate Reviews through all phases of project execution.
  • Prioritize and enforce safety protocols in the design phase, managing the Design Risk Register.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs without compromising project integrity, performance, or safety.
  • Develop reporting methodology to illustrate Package progress through each phase of the Engineering Stage Gate process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline; higher-level degree (e.g., MSc) desirable.
  • Chartered, PE, or working towards Chartered/PE status (or relevant equivalent) desirable.
  • Extensive experience designing and working in the offshore industry, preferably offshore wind.
  • Significant experience working in teams involved in large multidisciplinary work packages in international environments.
  • Experience in dealing with health and safety and environmental legislation associated with construction, marine and offshore projects.
  • Extensive experience with Engineering Design and Design Management on large scale infrastructure projects, offshore wind, or oil and gas.
  • Experience with implementation of methodologies associated with design management principles, design assurance, and design safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
