About the position

The Sr Project Engineer for Water Utility Network Operations is responsible for managing capital programs related to linear assets, ensuring successful project delivery from inception to completion. This role involves collaboration with engineering and operations teams to meet operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational objectives, while ensuring asset owner satisfaction through adherence to project plans.

Responsibilities

  • Manage $20M-$50M of water/wastewater programs annually, including project identification and priority evaluation.
  • Oversee the development of technical, bidding, and contractual documents in accordance with corporate engineering guidelines.
  • Ensure corporate Technical and Environmental Health and Safety/Security standards are incorporated into design specifications.
  • Work directly with the Operations group to meet operational, compliance, and health & safety goals.
  • Coordinate with master planning and hydraulic software to identify and prioritize projects.
  • Manage environmental and governmental permitting in coordination with local business unit staff.
  • Support construction management personnel to ensure timely completion and budget compliance.
  • Drive efficiency in project delivery through monitoring of delivery metrics and procurement methods.
  • Provide monthly reports to management on financial and progress status of capital projects.
  • Participate in the development of engineering design and delivery processes and standards.
  • Provide technical expertise on engineering and operational issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing water/wastewater design and construction projects.
  • Experience leading and managing multi-faceted teams.
  • Proficient in hydraulic modeling software (WaterGEMS or similar).
  • Strong project management skills including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing.
  • Thorough knowledge of water and wastewater process applications.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
  • Experience with alternate project delivery and contracting methods.
  • Ability to manage several small and mid-size projects simultaneously.
  • Computer skills including MS Project, Google Suite, Oracle PeopleSoft, and Oracle Hyperion.

Nice-to-haves
