About the position

The Sr Project Interior Designer will play a crucial role in the Sports + Recreation + Entertainment team, responsible for interpreting and executing conceptual designs for various projects. This position requires a blend of creativity, foresight, and technical skills to meet project objectives while adhering to client goals and budget constraints. The designer will engage in programming efforts, develop innovative design concepts, and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, organize, and execute conceptual design of projects.
  • Conduct programming efforts including space planning and layout.
  • Develop innovative design concepts that are practical and aesthetic.
  • Coordinate color and material palettes for projects.
  • Select and specify furniture, lighting, flooring, and artwork.
  • Estimate material requirements and preliminary costs.
  • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Render conceptual design ideas and prepare 2D and 3D presentation drawings.
  • Prepare and conduct client presentations.
  • Update documents during schematic design and design development phases.
  • Solicit bids and assist Project Manager in subcontracting.
  • Maintain project schedules and communicate with vendors and contractors.
  • Support the Construction Administration phase by responding to RFI's and reviewing shop drawings.
  • Implement HOK Standards for all projects and processes.
  • Mentor and direct less experienced staff and conduct performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, or foreign equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in interiors projects focused on Sports + Recreation + Entertainment.
  • Professional Interior Designer certification or registered Architect with current license.
  • Passed the NCIDQ exam or equivalent.
  • LEED credential required within 6 months of employment.
  • Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as Revit, Sketchup, Lumion, Enscape, TwinMotion, and Rhino.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Affinity software suite preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of buildingSMART, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
