About the position

The Sr Project Manager-EPC at Exelon is responsible for managing various energy-related projects, including transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and information technology initiatives. This role involves overseeing project scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance while leading cross-functional teams. The Project Manager will ensure effective communication with stakeholders and manage project execution from initiation to closeout, with budgets typically ranging from $250K to $15 million.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project performance for major transmission, substation, distribution, and gas construction projects.
  • Ensure project costs, schedule, and scope are managed effectively, including developing recovery plans.
  • Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements.
  • Act as the primary communicator with sponsors and key stakeholders on project issues.
  • Maintain good working relationships between the project team, line managers, and interfacing organizations.
  • Coach and lead team members to ensure completion of assigned tasks.
  • Identify and obtain project team resources.
  • Ensure project team members understand their respective responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 4-7 years of relevant project management experience, or a High School Diploma with 6-9 years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or achieve CAPM within two years of job entry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team leader, handling conflicting priorities in a multi-task environment.
  • Strong independent judgment skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and access to an automobile.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in engineering or Business Administration.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Professional Engineer License.
  • Experience or knowledge in Utility design/planning/construction or Information Technology.
