About the position

The Sr. Project Manager, HR Project Operations is a vital member of the HR Technology team, serving as a key advocate for project management and continuous process improvement. This role involves collaborating closely with HR Tech, Compliance, and various cross-functional teams within HR to lead and partner on projects of varying scales, from small to large. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and relationship-building skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment where collaboration is essential for solving complex problems. The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for providing project leadership across all assigned projects, ensuring alignment with HR Tech strategies while striving for operational excellence. In this position, the Sr. Project Manager will oversee project initiation, planning, control, execution, and communication related to HR Technology projects. They will manage multiple interrelated projects, ensuring that goals are met within the defined scope and timeline, in alignment with HR and business objectives. The role requires working closely with HR Project Operations, fellow project/program managers, HRIS Global Leads, and cross-functional HR teams to organize and achieve critical milestones throughout the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. The Sr. Project Manager will utilize business acumen to balance innovation with operational needs, considering multiple perspectives. Effective communication and presentation skills are crucial, as the individual will need to convey information to diverse audiences. The role also involves providing expertise in project management and HR Tech & Compliance processes, refining project management assets and tools to meet project objectives. Adherence to project/process methodology, including proper documentation, is essential. Establishing cross-functional relationships within HR and occasionally with the business is a key aspect of this role, as is the ability to proactively guide teams in identifying project risks and executing effective mitigation strategies. The Sr. Project Manager may also partner with IT teams to ensure that IT solutions align with business strategies, manage ongoing deliverables, and prioritize day-to-day development tasks. Understanding and following best practices in Project Management and HR Technology & Compliance while enhancing processes to meet new challenges is vital. The ability to tackle complex problems with ease is a necessary trait for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage small, medium, and large-scale HR Technology projects.
  • Initiate, plan, control, execute, and communicate project details effectively.

  • Collaborate with HR Project Operations and cross-functional HR teams to reach critical milestones.
  • Balance innovation and operational needs while considering multiple perspectives.

  • Provide expertise in project management and HR Tech & Compliance processes.
  • Refine project management assets and tools to achieve project objectives.
  • Adhere to project/process methodology and maintain proper documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of project management experience with demonstrated growth in managing complexity and ambiguity.
  • Robust experience in formal project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • 5+ years of overall business/industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources and/or familiarity with HR Information Systems (preferably Workday) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or CSM (Certified Scrum Master) preferred.
