About the position

Kimley-Horn is seeking a motivated Senior Project Manager to lead and expand our Land Development practice in Southfield, MI. This role involves managing a team, building client relationships, and overseeing land development projects with a focus on integrity and sound business principles. The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to direct and grow their business, with opportunities for advancement and a rewarding bonus program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Land Development team while building and managing relationships with key clients.
  • Operate with integrity and sound business principles.
  • Provide vision, business planning, and strategy.
  • Establish goals and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Communicate openly with partners and team members.
  • Grow and lead the land development practice.
  • Manage projects profitably and transition work to qualified staff.
  • Mentor and grow staff while acting as a positive leader.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing land development projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners, and/or land owners.
  • Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Business development and marketing experience, including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively.
