About the position

The Senior Project Manager - New Product Development at Oregon Tool, Inc. is responsible for coordinating all aspects of new product development projects from initiation through to completion. This role involves managing cross-functional activities, ensuring successful project execution, and leading a global team to achieve project objectives. The position requires strong communication and influencing skills to interact effectively with stakeholders and senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new product development projects using phase gate methodology.
  • Manage project schedules, scope, and costs while assessing impacts on the overall project portfolio.
  • Coordinate departmental resources to achieve key milestones in product development.
  • Prepare project scope documents, communications plans, risk assessments, and timelines.
  • Work closely with design engineering and manufacturing to develop high-quality products.
  • Provide coaching to sub-project managers and project team members.
  • Develop and facilitate best practices training for the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of proven project/program management experience in new product development.
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred.
  • Experience with formal project management methods and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to hold team members accountable to drive results.
  • Experience in developing and managing work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and change requests.
  • Exceptional collaboration, listening, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SAP or similar data management software.
