About the position
The Senior Project Manager for New Product Development at Pentair will oversee and coordinate project activities for the Pool New Product Development team. This role is crucial in ensuring that project goals are met within the approved scope, schedule, and budget, while also leading cross-functional teams from concept to post-release. The position emphasizes collaboration, process improvement, and the management of technically complex projects related to hardware and software development.
Responsibilities
- Manage medium to large scale, technically complex New Product Development projects.
- Lead project teams from concept to post-release using the company product launch process.
- Facilitate development brainstorming Kaizen events and post-launch activities.
- Provide input into process improvements and new operational plans.
- Chair project meetings, update tasks, track budget, and resource progress on weekly schedules.
- Log issues, risks, lessons learned, and document contingency plans for all projects.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering or other technical discipline; MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
- 10+ years leading cross-functional project teams and programs aligned with strategic objectives.
- 5+ years of engineering design or manufacturing experience in a med-high volume production environment.
- 5+ years managing project teams developing consumer products, including hardware and embedded firmware.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with consumer mobile Apps (iOS/Android) related to hardware deployment.
- Knowledge of product development processes including stage-gate, predictive, agile, and hybrid methods.
