About the position

Kimley-Horn is seeking a motivated Senior Project Manager to enhance our Roadway practice in Southfield, MI. This role involves managing complex engineering design tasks, engaging with clients, and expanding the roadway design practice in the local market. The successful candidate will lead project delivery profitably, mentor staff, and build strong client relationships while operating with integrity and sound business principles.

Responsibilities

  • Expand the practice and presence in the local market focused on roadway, highway, and municipal projects.
  • Manage complex engineering design tasks and ensure profitable project delivery.
  • Engage with clients and grow the roadway design practice in local and surrounding markets.
  • Provide vision, business planning, and strategy for the practice.
  • Establish goals and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Communicate openly with partners and team members.
  • Grow and lead a roadway practice, mentoring staff and transitioning work to qualified personnel.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing roadway projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Experience successfully winning and delivering work in local and surrounding areas.
  • Knowledge and experience with the full life cycle of roadway projects.
  • Established relationships with local agencies and municipalities.
  • Expertise in civil design of local roadways, urban freeways, and interchanges.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage roadway projects profitably while leading a team.

  • Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
