About the position

The Senior Project Manager for Training and Exercise at the Center for Disaster Medicine will oversee training initiatives and program management for the Regional Disaster Health Response System (RDHRS) and the Regional Emerging Special Pathogens Treatment Center (RESPTC). This role focuses on enhancing healthcare preparedness through training on All Hazards, particularly High Consequence Infectious Diseases, and developing Integrated Preparedness Plans. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP) for RDHRS and RESPTC programs.
  • Create and maintain the annual training calendar for each program in support of the IPP and program initiatives.
  • Oversee meeting/exercise coordination, scheduling, presentation materials, and event logistics.
  • Lead and contribute to After Action Reviews (AARs) for exercises and activations of the programs.
  • Provide guidance and support for the development and delivery of training content.
  • Support training and exercise-related technical assistance within Region 1.
  • Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver content to emergency response teams.
  • Manage multiple aspects of the RDHRS and RESPTC programs and lead assigned projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to set goals for project activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Prepare and contribute to programmatic reports as assigned.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure necessary supplies and technology are available for training and exercises.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required; 2-3 years preferred.
  • Proven experience in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with project management/task tracking software such as Smartsheet.
  • Ability to lead and work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Emergency Preparedness or Disaster Response, especially in healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) preferred.
  • Completion of ICS/NIMS 100, 200 before or upon hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of IS 120C and IS-130A courses before or upon hire.
  • Willingness to complete additional HSEEP training if not already completed.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.
  • Interest in learning new software applications, such as a Learning Management System.
