About the position

The Sr Project Manager is responsible for managing project management solutions within the Information Technology and Operations Division of the Georgia Lottery. This role involves overseeing project initiatives, developing project plans, and ensuring that implementations are completed on time, within budget, and meet client expectations. The position requires collaboration with various departments and vendor partners to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a project management plan for each assigned project.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects.
  • Conduct team meetings to review project updates, issues, and risks.
  • Create, publish, and communicate status reports to stakeholders.
  • Manage tollgate meetings to ensure agreement to move through subsequent software development lifecycle stages.
  • Engage with stakeholders proactively to ensure accurate project status and awareness of issues/risks.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of projects with quality, within schedule and budget.
  • Accountable for accurate estimates of scope, schedule, resources, assumptions, and risks.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Recruit and manage assigned project staff according to IT Governance procedures or project needs.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather and document approved projects through each step in the IT Governance process.
  • Prepare reports and analysis to determine key performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of project management and implementation experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years managing people and resources required.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems, required.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project / Brightwork project tool is highly desired.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience creating and implementing automated workflows required.
  • Strong negotiation, communication (both oral and written), and presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of systems development lifecycle methodology, with experience in Agile and/or Waterfall.
  • Thorough understanding of software development, system and networking, and quality assurance methodologies, concepts, and best practices.
