About the position
The position is responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. The individual will act as the first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. A key responsibility includes the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in engaging with combative or escalating subjects.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty.
- Equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force.
- Valid Driver’s license & adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
Nice-to-haves
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire.
- Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
- Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton required.
- Carry company issued firearm required.
