About the position

The Senior Manager of Product PR for the Office of the Chief Information Officer (oCIO) at Workday is responsible for leading public relations programs that highlight the Workday platform and its AI innovations. This role emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and strategic storytelling to effectively communicate Workday's value to various stakeholders, including media and executives. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and developing narratives that showcase how Workday addresses customer needs and adapts to the evolving landscape of work.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead PR activities across multiple products within the oCIO and Workday AI innovations.
  • Build programs and own relationships with the media to drive positive coverage highlighting the Workday platform and our AI innovation.
  • Partner with product executives and product marketing to develop narratives and messaging for internal and external channels.
  • Research Workday's product roadmap and collaborate with stakeholders to source product news for awareness.
  • Identify stories demonstrating how Workday responds to customer needs with new solutions.
  • Develop Workday's perspective on innovation from a platform, products, and AI technologies lens.
  • Drive thought leadership content to raise visibility of Workday executives and the company's AI innovation, focusing on security, privacy, and trust.
  • Represent the communications/PR team in cross-functional teams to ensure alignment around business objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with external public relations agencies.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of public relations experience, preferably in enterprise software and AI technology.
  • Strong experience working with business, trade, IT, and industry media outlets and reporters.
  • Superb written and verbal communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand technology and translate it into public relations strategies and messaging.
  • Proven ability to create content that reaches audiences across paid, earned, and owned channels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of building relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, technical, and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in both in-house and agency public relations experience.
  • Experience in navigating and building strong relationships with media.
