About the position

The Senior Public Relations Manager will lead PR strategy and execution for PlayStation hardware platforms and network services, focusing on shaping a positive narrative for the PlayStation brand. This role involves developing comprehensive PR plans, managing media outreach, and fostering relationships with key media outlets to secure impactful coverage. The position requires collaboration across a global organization and offers a hybrid work schedule with flexibility for in-office days as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive PR plans and manage key tactics, such as media outreach, messaging development, event coordination, speaking opportunities, and coverage reporting.
• Foster and expand relationships with key media to secure compelling coverage, focusing on consumer and mainstream media outlets.
• Create integrated communications campaigns in partnership with key stakeholders, including Marketing, Product, and Partner Relations.
• Report back to supervisor and Communications Leadership team on strategic plans, project status, internal challenges, product updates, and issues.
• Offer strategic counsel to product stakeholders and handle crisis communications as needed.
• Leverage best-in-class tools and processes to foster new ideas and devise solutions for department-wide improvements.
• Lead and contribute to broader Communications department initiatives and general media programs.

Requirements

• At least 10+ years of Public Relations experience working directly with media and representing consumer and/or tech brands.
• Experience managing projects and the ability to work collaboratively across a large global organization.
• Highly skilled at building relationships with traditional media and content creators.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Consistent track record of developing and executing creative and strategic PR plans, securing coverage, and leveraging social media channels.

Nice-to-haves

• Keen interest in video games and knowledge of the gaming industry.
