About the position

The Sr. Purchasing Manager at PACCAR is responsible for negotiating and managing supplier relationships within the Structures Group. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with commercial and contractual requirements while delivering high value at the lowest total cost. The position is based at the Corporate Office in Bellevue, WA, and involves collaboration with global operations to enhance supply chain performance and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage all aspects of PACCAR's relationship with assigned suppliers.
  • Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies for improved supply chain performance and product quality.
  • Investigate and implement new technologies and strategic procurement initiatives.
  • Negotiate supplier compliance to long-term supply and warranty agreements.
  • Issue formal Requests for Information, Proposals, and Quotes (RFI's, RFP's, and RFQ's) and analyze supplier responses.
  • Interact with PACCAR operations worldwide to develop and execute global supply chain strategies.
  • Communicate and conduct meetings with suppliers and internal personnel at all management levels.
  • Travel to supplier locations to evaluate capabilities and resolve supply issues.
  • Visit PACCAR's global operating locations to support supply chain activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Purchasing, Engineering, Materials, or related experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Proficient in PC skills including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative, self-motivated, and results-driven work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; negotiation experience is a plus.
  • Project team participation and/or project management experience.
  • Experience with Castings, Forgings, Frame Rails, Fasteners, Clamps, Tires, Wheels, and/or commercial trucking is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with commercial trucking components such as Castings and Forgings.
  • Project management experience.
