About the position

The Sr. Python Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining Information Technology solutions using Python to enhance Florida Blue Customer Experience applications. This role involves coding, documentation, conducting unit tests, performing peer code reviews, and evaluating purchased products. The developer will also implement IT controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and program Information Technology solutions using Python.
• Document the system and conduct unit tests.
• Perform peer code reviews and maintain internally developed applications.
• Evaluate and perform testing on purchased products.
• Implement IT controls to protect application and data integrity.
• Develop REST APIs using Python and process batch files.
• Schedule batch processes and ensure efficient operation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of related work experience in technical design and coding in the IT industry.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with unit testing, release procedures, and change management.
• In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, and others.
• Excellent understanding of RESTful architecture and Python programming.
• Experience developing REST APIs and processing batch files using Python.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Health Care or Financial domains.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux shell scripting.
• Working knowledge of PySpark and Hadoop environments.
