About the position

The Sr. Python Developer role is focused on developing and maintaining applications for pre-trading systems within the financial services sector. The position requires a strong background in investment banking and trading systems, with a significant emphasis on Python development and AWS deployment. The candidate must be local to either Boston, MA or San Francisco, CA and will be required to work onsite two days a week from the start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications for pre-trading systems in financial services.
• Deploy code on AWS and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features.
• Ensure code quality through testing and code reviews.
• Utilize CI/CD practices to streamline deployment processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Python Developer.
• Extensive experience in financial services, specifically with pre-trading platforms.
• 5+ years of experience deploying code on AWS.
• Proficiency in Python and its libraries/frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, Pandas, Numpy).
• Strong knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
• Experience with databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data storage solutions.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with AWS services like SNS, SQS, CloudFormation, and Lambda.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
