About the position

The Sr. Python Developer position focuses on handling Big Data and requires advanced experience in Python programming. The role involves developing and implementing data science algorithms, creating REST APIs, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve common goals. This is a contract role based in Fremont, CA, with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence from Monday to Wednesday.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data science algorithms using Python.
• Create and maintain REST APIs for large volume data sets.
• Handle Big Data processing using PySpark.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project alignment.
• Write reusable code components and maintain high-quality coding standards.
• Perform data munging and wrangling as needed.

Requirements

• 8+ years of advanced experience in Python programming.
• Experience with Django and/or Flask frameworks.
• Proficient in using PySpark for Big Data processing.
• Experience with data science algorithms implementation.
• Familiarity with third-party Python libraries such as Pandas, Pyarrow, and Numpy.
• Experience with machine learning libraries like scikit-learn.
• Knowledge of RDBMS systems and NoSQL stores (HBase, Cassandra, etc.).
• Strong understanding of automated testing and engineering best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data munging/wrangling.
• Familiarity with additional machine learning frameworks.
