About the position

The Challenge Candidate will be responsible for the analysis and development of applications using Python, focusing on ensuring high availability, failover, and scalability through proper design and architectural patterns. The role emphasizes best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, build, code review, and testing, with a strong focus on application resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure proper design and architectural patterns are deployed for high availability, failover, and scaling.
  • Demonstrate best practices throughout the software development lifecycle including design, build, code review, and testing.
  • Maintain high standards and follow best practices by refactoring existing code to enhance readability, performance, and general structure.
  • Work with business users to gather complex requirements and translate them into actionable items for developers, often involving quick prototyping.
  • Build distributed and scalable complex services, as well as RESTful services and robust microservices.
  • Develop web services and REST interfaces in Python.
  • Utilize analytic reporting tools like Tableau for reporting purposes.
  • Work in regulatory projects and maintain compliance with standards.
  • Utilize CI/CD practices, including Jenkins and Git, in the development process.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise and working experience in Python.
  • Knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with ORM libraries like Sqlalchemy.
  • Experience in databases including relational, document, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience building distributed and scalable complex services and RESTful services.
  • Experience with web services development and REST interfaces in Python.
  • Analytical skills for performing technical and functional analysis with strong communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile teams.
  • Experience working on high volume applications.
  • Experience working in containers.
  • Experience with Liquidity Reports like Fed5g, LCR, NSFR, CRD IV is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in regulatory projects is strongly desirable.
