About the position

The Sr. Python Developer is responsible for developing and programming IT solutions using Python to enhance Customer Experience applications. This role involves documentation, conducting unit tests, performing peer code reviews, and maintaining internally developed applications. The developer will also evaluate and test purchased products while ensuring IT controls are in place to protect application and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and program IT solutions using Python for Customer Experience applications.
• Document the system and conduct unit tests and peer code reviews.
• Maintain internally developed applications and evaluate purchased products.
• Implement IT controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data.
• Develop REST APIs and process batch files using Python.
• Schedule batch processes and evaluate various libraries for business and technical requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of related work experience in the IT industry.
• Bachelor's degree or related work experience.
• Experience with unit testing, release procedures, and change management.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Excellent understanding of RESTful architecture and Python programming.
• Demonstrated experience developing REST APIs and processing batch files using Python.
• Proficiency in standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools like Visio.
• In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in various domains such as Health Care or Financial.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux shell scripting.
• Advanced SQL scripting/querying skills.
• Working knowledge of PySpark and Hadoop environments.
