About the position

The Sr. QA Automation Engineer for the Privacy Product at TikTok plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of privacy-related features and functionalities. This position involves collaborating with the Privacy product team to develop and implement testing strategies that align with regulatory requirements, safeguarding user data. The engineer will leverage automation tools and rigorous testing protocols to enhance the testing process within the CI/CD pipeline, ultimately aiming to exceed user expectations and set industry standards for privacy excellence.

Responsibilities

• Understand the product privacy framework and coordinate a shared service testing strategy for high-quality privacy infrastructure.
• Act as a feature test owner, responsible for test planning, execution, and post-deployment testing.
• Perform online monitoring to triage issues and ensure the confidentiality, security, and stability of TikTok Privacy Product.
• Deliver automated tests independently and collaborate with the product QA team to automate end-to-end tests.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the TikTok Privacy Product life cycle and related processes.
• Provide cross-functional test support for team members on a weekly basis.
• Recommend improvements to processes, testing methodologies, and testing tools.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of testing experience from black box to white box.
• 4+ years of experience with iOS/Android/React UI test automation or equivalent UI development experience.
• 4+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• 4+ years of experience testing, operating, and delivering mobile applications or distributed cloud-hosted software systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a user of TikTok or similar products.
• Knowledge of privacy and security domains and product privacy frameworks.
• Experience developing automation tools or frameworks using Blazemeter, Cypress, Jest, JMeter, Playwright, Puppeteer, Postman, Selenium, etc.
• Familiarity with program management tools (e.g., Jira or Asana) and methodologies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate and multi-task.
